Testing Facilities
Melt Flow Index
All the input raw materials, such as HDPE, HMHDPE, and master batches are tested on the Melt Flow Indexer per lot or batch no. prior to issue for production. Thus, all the materials are controlled in-house and kept in records.
Drop Testing
At Mitsu Chem, we conduct rigorous testing to ensure the strength and durability of our drums. We have installed a state of the art, unique automatic drop tester on which we can drop the containers filled with water from any height and angle as required.
Stack Load Test
A equivalent weight was placed on a flat surface resting on the top of the drum for a period of 21 days (new development or any major change in 3M). The article should not bulge.
Closure Leakage Test
Filled containers are kept upside down on the floor for 1 hour to ensure there is no leakage from the closures.
Leakage Test (Pneumatic Test)
When the container is submerged in water, it should not leak or puncture, even when subjected to an air pressure of 0.35 bar.
Wall Thickness Test
To ensure compliance with the standard wall thickness profile, the container's thickness profile must be examined using an ultrasonic thickness gauge, and the minimum wall thickness indicated in the profile must not be compromised.
Fitment Test
This test is undertaken on containers/bottles and furniture products to check the fitment of the respective accessories on the products to ensure they are as per the customer requirements.
Tare Weight Checking
Every container should be weighed on an electronic balance along with the cap, plug, and handles and recorded in the in-process inspection record and on the bottom of the container. Also, the details of the lot number, serial number, shift, and date shall be marked in short on the bottom.
External Testing
Wherever required as per the customer’s requirement, sample drums are sent to the Indian Institute of Packaging (I.I.P. ), a private government-recognized institute, to carry out the above-mentioned tests for goods exported to various overseas destinations.
